Compassionate, trauma-informed support for families
At ABC Asher Baker Social Work, we support children, young people, adults, and families across the Ovens and Murray and Hume regions to feel safe, understood, and connected.
We create a space where people can be themselves, feel heard, and gently work through life’s challenges with support that is practical, respectful, and centred around you.
Our approach to social work
Our approach is grounded in compassion, safety, and understanding.
We support children, young people, and adults, including those who are neurodivergent, recognising that everyone’s experiences and needs are different.
With experience supporting families through complex and often overwhelming situations, we understand how difficult things can feel at times.
We focus on creating a safe, respectful space where people feel comfortable to engage at their own pace, feel heard and understood, and are supported to build stronger relationships, greater insight, and practical ways forward.

About ABC Asher Baker Social Work
At ABC Asher Baker Social Work, we bring extensive experience across private practice, family violence, child protection, and community mental health settings.
We support children, young people, adults, and families of all ages, including those experiencing trauma, anxiety, attachment challenges, family violence, and emotional overwhelm. Our work is grounded in a strong understanding of mental health, trauma, and attachment, offering practical and supportive ways to help people move forward.
With experience across family services, including The Orange Door, we understand how complex and overwhelming life can feel at times. We have worked alongside families navigating high-risk and court-involved situations, and regularly collaborate with schools, child protection, legal services, and other supports to ensure safe and coordinated care.
Our approach balances professional knowledge with genuine care and connection. We focus on creating a space where people feel safe to engage at their own pace—where children feel heard, and where parents and caregivers are supported with understanding and practical tools.
We hold a Master of Social Work, with additional training in approaches such as Theraplay and Single Session Thinking (Bouverie Institute), alongside a background in education and biological sciences. We are committed to ongoing professional development to ensure the support we provide remains informed, responsive, and aligned with best practice.
We understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult. Our priority is to create a welcoming, respectful space where you feel comfortable to take that first step.
